A bill for an act
relating to game and fish; providing for possession limits for sunfish in certain
counties; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 97C.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [97C.008] SUNFISH LIMITS.

new text begin Notwithstanding sections 97C.005 and 97C.007 or any other law to the contrary, the
commissioner must not establish a daily possession limit of less than ten sunfish for waters
located in Carver, McLeod, Sibley, or Wright County.

Sec. 2. new text begin EXISTING SUNFISH LIMITS TO CONFORM.
new text end

new text begin For waters where the daily possession limits for sunfish were established before the
effective date of this act and do not conform with Minnesota Statutes, section 97C.008, the
daily possession limit for sunfish is ten.

Sec. 3. new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE.

new text begin Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final enactment.
