A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for public safety facilities in
the city of Montgomery; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Appropriation; bond proceeds. new text end

new text begin $3,427,000 is appropriated from the
bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of administration to construct, furnish, and equip
the renovation of the city hall building and to predesign, design, construct, furnish, and
equip a fire station in the city of Montgomery.

new text begin Appropriation; general fund. new text end

new text begin $2,573,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated
from the general fund to the commissioner of administration to retire existing debt issued
by the city of Montgomery to fund the predesign, design, and construction of a police facility
in the city of Montgomery. This appropriation is onetime and is available until the project
is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
the state in an amount up to $3,427,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
