  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing private sale of 
  1.3             certain tax-forfeited land that borders public water 
  1.4             in St. Louis county. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND BORDERING 
  1.7   PUBLIC WATER; ST. LOUIS COUNTY.] 
  1.8      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  1.9   282.018, subdivision 1, and the public sale provisions of 
  1.10  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282, St. Louis county may sell by 
  1.11  private sale the tax-forfeited land bordering public water that 
  1.12  is described in paragraph (c), under the remaining provisions of 
  1.13  Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282. 
  1.14     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.15  attorney general for a consideration of taxes due on the 
  1.16  property and any penalties, interest, and costs. 
  1.17     (c) The land to be sold is located in St. Louis county and 
  1.18  is described as: 
  1.19     (1) the West 200 feet of W1/2 of S1/2 of NE1/4 of SE1/4, 
  1.20  Section 9, Township 50, Range 14, consisting of 3.03 acres, 
  1.21  Plat/Parcel Code:  10-2710-2750; 
  1.22     (2) the SW1/4SE1/4, except part southerly of center line of 
  1.23  Sargent Creek, Section 4, Township 48, Range 15, consisting of 
  1.24  20.47 acres, Plat/Parcel Code:  10-2730-540; 
  1.25     (3) Lots 6 and 7, Erickson Beach, Section 27, Township 57, 
  2.1   Range 17, consisting of .46 acre, Plat/Parcel Code:  340-90-60; 
  2.2   and 
  2.3      (4) Lot 8, except easterly 50 feet and the easterly 50 feet 
  2.4   of Lot 8, Erickson Beach, Section 27, Township 57, Range 17, 
  2.5   consisting of .5 acre, Plat/Parcel Codes:  340-90-80, 340-90-85. 
  2.6      (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  2.7   management interests would best be served if the lands were 
  2.8   returned to private ownership.
