  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to employment and economic development; 
  1.3             appropriating money for a statewide demonstration 
  1.4             project of youth job skills development. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; YOUTH JOB SKILLS AND CRIME 
  1.7   INTERVENTION GRANT.] 
  1.8      $250,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2005 to the 
  1.9   commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant 
  1.10  to the Minnesota Alliance of Boys and Girls Clubs to develop and 
  1.11  administer a statewide demonstration project of youth job skills 
  1.12  development.  This project, which may have crime intervention 
  1.13  components, is to encourage, train, and assist youth in 
  1.14  job-seeking skills, workplace orientation, and job-site 
  1.15  knowledge through coaching.  This appropriation is from the 
  1.16  workforce development fund, and requires a 25 percent match from 
  1.17  nonstate resources.
