relating to taxation; authorizing a fire remediation grant to the city of Spring Grove.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; FIRE REMEDIATION GRANT.

new text begin $250,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of revenue for a grant to the city of Spring Grove to remediate the effects of the fire in the
city on December 22, 2022. The grant recipient must use the money appropriated under this
section for remediation costs, including disaster recovery, infrastructure, reimbursement
for emergency personnel costs, reimbursement for equipment costs, and reimbursement for
property tax abatements incurred by public or private entities as a result of the fire. This
appropriation is onetime and is available until June 30, 2025.
