firearms legislation; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin (a) A member of the legislature who introduces or authors a bill relating to firearms
must provide proof, upon request, that the member of the legislature introducing or authoring
the bill: (1) possesses a valid permit issued under section 624.714 or a firearms safety
certificate issued under section 97B.015, subdivision 5; (2) has successfully completed
range safety officer training; and (3) has successfully completed a knowledge test regarding
firearm calibers and gauges.
