  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to agriculture; restricting township zoning 
  1.3             ordinances affecting feedlots; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1996, section 462.357, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 462.357, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 1c.  [FEEDLOTS.] A town must not enact, amend, or 
  1.10  enforce a zoning ordinance over feedlots that is stricter than 
  1.11  an applicable county ordinance covering feedlots within the 
  1.12  township.  If no county ordinance is effective for feedlots 
  1.13  within the township, the township may enact a feedlot zoning 
  1.14  ordinance.
