  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; providing for tree 
  1.3             replacement in certain acreage; proposing coding for 
  1.4             new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 88. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [88.83] [TREE REPLACEMENT.] 
  1.7      (a) For the purposes of this section, "agricultural use" 
  1.8   and "development" have the meanings given in section 40A.02. 
  1.9      (b) For each acre that a developer removes from 
  1.10  agricultural use and uses for public or private residential or 
  1.11  business development in Anoka, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Dodge, 
  1.12  Goodhue, Hennepin, Isanti, Le Sueur, McLeod, Olmsted, Ramsey, 
  1.13  Rice, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, Wabasha, Washington, Winona, and 
  1.14  Wright counties, the developer must plant an acre of red or 
  1.15  white pines elsewhere in one of those counties. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [APPLICATION.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective in the contiguous counties of Anoka, 
  1.18  Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Dodge, Goodhue, Hennepin, Isanti, Le 
  1.19  Sueur, McLeod, Olmsted, Ramsey, Rice, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, 
  1.20  Wabasha, Washington, Winona, and Wright.
