A bill for an act
relating to public safety; appropriating money for sex trafficking investigation
grants.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin SEX TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATIONS.

new text begin $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of public safety for grants to state and local units of government for the
following purposes:

new text begin (1) to support new or existing multijurisdictional entities to investigate sex
trafficking crimes; and
new text end

new text begin (2) to provide technical assistance for sex trafficking crimes, including training and
case consultation, to law enforcement agencies statewide.
