1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to liquor; requiring a permit for importing 1.3 malt liquor to a central warehouse or holding area; 1.4 proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, 1.5 chapter 340A. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. [340A.3053] [MANUFACTURER'S WAREHOUSE PERMIT.] 1.8 Subdivision 1. [PERMIT REQUIRED.] No brewer or malt liquor 1.9 manufacturer may import malt liquor to a central warehouse or 1.10 holding area in Minnesota without first having obtained a 1.11 manufacturer's warehouse permit. A manufacturer's warehouse 1.12 permit allows a brewer or malt liquor manufacturer to import 1.13 malt liquor for storage at a central distribution center or 1.14 warehouse. Only a licensed malt liquor wholesaler may accept 1.15 delivery from or pick up malt liquor from the central 1.16 distribution center or warehouse. 1.17 Subd. 2. [FEES.] The annual fee for a manufacturer's 1.18 warehouse permit is $1,000. 1.19 Subd. 3. [PERSONS ELIGIBLE.] A manufacturer's warehouse 1.20 permit may be issued only to malt liquor manufacturers or 1.21 brewers located outside Minnesota that hold a valid importer's 1.22 license under section 340A.302. 1.23 Subd. 4. [RESTRICTION.] The holder of a manufacturer's 1.24 warehouse permit may not make sales or deliveries to any party 1.25 other than a holder of a wholesales alcoholic beverage license.
