  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money for a grant 
  1.3             for the Unlimited Possibilities Plan. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES PLAN.] 
  1.6      $350,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 1999 from the 
  1.7   general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.8   learning for a grant to a nonprofit agency representing the 
  1.9   private alternative schools.  The purpose of the grant is to 
  1.10  support the Unlimited Possibilities Plan to assist student 
  1.11  transition from secondary school to college or gainful 
  1.12  employment including mentoring programs, post-secondary 
  1.13  training, career exploration, and placement services.  The grant 
  1.14  recipient must match state funds with an equal amount of funds 
  1.15  raised from nonpublic sources.  This appropriation does not 
  1.16  cancel, but is available until June 30, 2000.
