  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state government; requiring state agencies 
  1.3             to provide grant information on the Internet; 
  1.4             requiring the commissioner of administration to 
  1.5             develop a uniform Internet application for grants; 
  1.6             amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 16B.467; 
  1.7             proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.8             chapter 15. 
  1.9   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.10     Section 1.  [15.994] [INTERNET GRANT INFORMATION.] 
  1.11     A state agency with an Internet site must provide 
  1.12  information on grants available through the agency and must 
  1.13  provide a link to any grant application under section 16B.467. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 16B.467, is 
  1.15  amended to read: 
  1.16     16B.467 [ELECTRONIC CONDUCT OF STATE BUSINESS.] 
  1.17     The commissioner of administration shall develop and 
  1.18  implement a system under which: 
  1.19     (1) state business can be conducted and permits or licenses 
  1.20  obtained through electronic communication with the appropriate 
  1.21  state agencies; and 
  1.22     (2) applications for grants can be made electronically to 
  1.23  state agencies when feasible.
