A bill for an act
relating to drivers' licenses; requiring at least 30 minutes of driver education
on organ and tissue donation; permanently suspending statute creating vehicle
insurance sampling program; amending Minnesota Statutes 2004, section
171.0701; Laws 2005, First Special Session chapter 6, article 3, section 109.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 171.0701, is amended to read:


171.0701 DRIVER EDUCATION; ORGAN AND TISSUE DONATION.

The commissioner shall adopt rules requiring new text begin a minimum of 30 minutes of
new text end instructionnew text begin , beginning January 1, 2007,new text end relating to organ and tissue donations and the
provisions of section 171.07, subdivision 5, for persons enrolled in driver education
programs offered at public schools, private schools, and commercial driver training
schools.

Sec. 2.

Laws 2005, First Special Session chapter 6, article 3, section 109, is amended
to read:


Sec. 109. EFFECTIVE DATE; EXPIRATION.

Minnesota Rules, part 7411.0515, subpart 2, to provide that driver education programs
offered at public schools, private schools, and commercial driver training schools must
include a minimum of 30 minutes of instruction relating to organ and tissue donations and
the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, section 171.07, subdivision 5.
