A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for an addition to the Dakota
County Law Enforcement Center.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER IMPROVEMENT AND ADDITION;
APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of public safety for a grant to Dakota County to design an addition to the Dakota County
Law Enforcement Center in Hastings, for the purpose of serving 24 to 30 inmates with
physical, mental, or behavioral needs requiring specialized care. This appropriation is
available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section
16A.642.
