  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to counties; requiring a county to provide 
  1.3             funding for a museum in certain circumstances; 
  1.4             proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.5             chapter 373. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [373.251] [COUNTY SUBSIDIZATION OF MUSEUMS.] 
  1.8      In any year in which a county that (1) contains a city of 
  1.9   the first class, and (2) is located outside the metropolitan 
  1.10  area as defined in section 473.121, subdivision 2, provides 
  1.11  funding for capital improvements or operating subsidies to a 
  1.12  county museum, the county must also provide funding for capital 
  1.13  improvements or operating subsidies of equal or greater amounts 
  1.14  to a museum located in the county that is operated by the Iron 
  1.15  Range Resources and Rehabilitation Agency. 
  1.16     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective for 2005 and 
  1.17  subsequent years.
