  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to agriculture; providing funding for 
  1.3             assistance to farm families in northwestern and west 
  1.4             central Minnesota; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; COMMISSIONER OF AGRICULTURE.] 
  1.7      $1,010,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of agriculture for grants to organizations 
  1.9   participating in the farm wrap network and the rural help 
  1.10  network.  The grants may be used for outreach services, mental 
  1.11  health services, legal and accounting services, farm management 
  1.12  services, informal mediation support, and emergency services for 
  1.13  farmers.  This appropriation is available until June 30, 2001. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
