  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to human services; crisis nurseries; 
  1.3             establishing a program to provide technical assistance 
  1.4             to counties in developing crisis nursery programs; 
  1.5             appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [SPECIAL GRANT PROGRAM TO DEVELOP CRISIS 
  1.8   NURSERY PROGRAMS.] 
  1.9      $200,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 1998 from the 
  1.10  general fund to the commissioner of human services for a special 
  1.11  grant program to provide technical assistance to counties that 
  1.12  are interested in developing a crisis nursery program.  The 
  1.13  technical assistance must be designed to assist interested 
  1.14  counties in building capacity to develop and maintain a crisis 
  1.15  nursery program in the county.  To be eligible to receive a 
  1.16  grant under this program, the county must not have an existing 
  1.17  crisis nursery program and must not be a metropolitan county, as 
  1.18  that term is defined in Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 473.121.
