  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; clarifying medical 
  1.3             assistance reimbursement requirements for speech 
  1.4             language pathologists; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             1999 Supplement, section 256B.0625, subdivision 8b.  
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1999 Supplement, section 
  1.8   256B.0625, subdivision 8b, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 8b.  [SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY AND AUDIOLOGY 
  1.10  SERVICES.] Medical assistance covers speech language pathology 
  1.11  and related services, including specialized maintenance 
  1.12  therapy.  Medical assistance covers audiology services and 
  1.13  related services.  Services provided by a person who has been 
  1.14  issued a temporary registration under section 148.5161 shall be 
  1.15  reimbursed at the same rate as services performed by a speech 
  1.16  language pathologist or audiologist as long as the requirements 
  1.17  of section 148.5161, subdivision 3, are met.
