relating to education; permitting a September 1 school start date for the
2015-2016 school year only.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin SCHOOL START DATE FOR THE 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR ONLY.

Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 120A.40, or other law to the contrary,
for the 2015-2016 school year only, school districts may begin the school year on
September 1 but must not schedule a student instruction day on the Thursday or Friday
immediately preceding Labor Day.
