  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; providing funding for 
  1.3             state park and recreation area improvements, 
  1.4             restoration, and acquisition; authorizing the sale of 
  1.5             state bonds; appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [STATE PARKS AND RECREATION AREAS; 
  1.8   APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.9      Subdivision 1.  [IMPROVEMENTS AND RESTORATION.] $31,000,000 
  1.10  is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner 
  1.11  of natural resources for design, repair, rehabilitation, 
  1.12  construction, and replacement of improvements, and for 
  1.13  restoration projects of a capital nature at state park and 
  1.14  recreation area facilities throughout the state.  The 
  1.15  commissioner shall determine project priorities as appropriate 
  1.16  based upon need. 
  1.17     Subd. 2.  [ACQUISITION.] $4,000,000 is appropriated from 
  1.18  the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of natural resources 
  1.19  for acquisition from willing sellers of private lands within 
  1.20  state park and recreation area boundaries established by law.  
  1.21  The commissioner shall determine project priorities as 
  1.22  appropriate based upon need. 
  1.23     Subd. 3.  [BOND SALE.] To provide the money appropriated in 
  1.24  this section from the bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of 
  1.25  finance shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an amount up 
  2.1   to $35,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the 
  2.2   effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 
  2.3   16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 
  2.4   4 to 7. 
  2.5      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.6      Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
