A bill for an act
relating to state government; providing for use of donated sick leave; amending
Laws 1993, chapter 345, article 5, section 17, subdivision 1.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Laws 1993, chapter 345, article 5, section 17, subdivision 1, is amended to
read:


Subdivision 1.

Donation of vacation time.

A state employee may donate up to 12
hours of accrued vacation leave for the benefit of a state employee in Morrison county
whose child was attacked by a dog in 1993. The number of hours donated must be credited
to the sick leave account of the receiving state employee. If the receiving state employee
uses all of the donated time, additional hours up to 50 hours per employee of accrued
vacation leave time may be donated. new text begin The donated hours credited to the employee's sick
leave account under this section must serve as a basis for severance pay in the same
manner as other hours in the employee's sick leave account.
