  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; appropriating money 
  1.3             to the University of Minnesota for projects at the 
  1.4             Morris campus. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $8,200,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to 
  1.8   the board of regents of the University of Minnesota to renovate, 
  1.9   furnish, and equip the Science Building at the Morris campus.  
  1.10  Renovation of the building will:  provide instructional and 
  1.11  research laboratories, classrooms, student study space, faculty 
  1.12  offices, upgrade or replace building systems, and correct 
  1.13  building code deficiencies. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE.] 
  1.15     To provide the money appropriated in section 1 from the 
  1.16  state bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance shall sell 
  1.17  and issue bonds of the state in an amount up to $8,200,000 in 
  1.18  the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed by 
  1.19  Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the 
  1.20  Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7. 
  1.21     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.22     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
