relating to economic development; establishing a business advocate in the
Department of Employment and Economic Development; proposing coding for
new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 116J.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin A small business advocate office is established in the Bureau of Business Services
to provide one-stop access for small businesses in need of information or assistance in
obtaining or renewing licenses, meeting state regulatory requirements, or resolving
disputes with state agencies. The department shall not increase its full-time equivalent
staff complement to administer this section.
