  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to professions; modifying limitations on 
  1.3             practice of architecture, landscape architecture, 
  1.4             engineering, geoscience, and interior design; amending 
  1.5             Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 326.02, subdivision 5.
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 326.02, 
  1.8   subdivision 5, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 5.  [LIMITATION.] The provisions of sections 326.02 
  1.10  to 326.15 shall do not apply to:  
  1.11     (1) the preparation of plans and specifications for the 
  1.12  erection, enlargement, or alteration of any building or other 
  1.13  structure by any person, for that person's exclusive occupancy 
  1.14  or use, unless such the occupancy or use involves the public 
  1.15  health or safety or the health or safety of the employees 
  1.16  of said the person, or of the buildings listed in section 
  1.17  326.03, subdivision 2, nor to; 
  1.18     (2) any detailed or shop plans required to be furnished by 
  1.19  a contractor to a registered engineer, landscape architect, 
  1.20  architect, or certified interior designer, nor to; 
  1.21     (3) any standardized manufactured product, nor to; 
  1.22     (4) any construction superintendent supervising the 
  1.23  execution of work designed by an architect, landscape architect, 
  1.24  engineer, or certified interior designer licensed or certified 
  1.25  in accordance with section 326.03, nor to the planning for and 
  2.1   supervision of the construction and installation of work by an 
  2.2   electrical contractor or master plumber as defined in and 
  2.3   licensed pursuant to this chapter, where such work is within the 
  2.4   scope of such licensed activity and not within the practice of 
  2.5   professional engineering, or architecture,; or where the 
  2.6      (5) a person who does not claim to be a certified interior 
  2.7   designer as defined in subdivision 2, 3, or 4b.
