  1.2             relating to human services; adding a hardship 
  1.3             provision to emergency assistance; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1997 Supplement, section 256J.48, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1997 Supplement, section 
  1.8   256J.48, is amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2a.  [HARDSHIP PROVISION.] Funds available for 
  1.10  emergency assistance are available for individuals who meet the 
  1.11  exceptions under section 256J.12, subdivision 2.
