  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to higher education; making changes to 
  1.3             postsecondary enrollment options; requiring equivalent 
  1.4             admission standards; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, 
  1.5             section 135A.101, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 135A.101, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 3.  [ADMISSION STANDARDS.] By September 1, 2004, each 
  1.10  participating institution shall adopt admission standards for 
  1.11  students to participate in the postsecondary enrollment options 
  1.12  program.  The standards must be based on the admissions 
  1.13  standards of the institution and the standards must be 
  1.14  equivalent for public school pupils and alternative pupils 
  1.15  defined under section 124D.09.
