A bill for an act
relating to health; providing funding for nursing home moratorium exception
projects; amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 144A.073, by adding a
subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 144A.073, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Moratorium exception funding. new text end

new text begin Beginning in fiscal year 2014 and each
subsequent fiscal year, the commissioner of health may approve moratorium exception
projects under this section for which the full annualized state share of medical assistance
costs does not exceed $1,000,000. The combination of this authorization with the
carryover of unused funds in subdivision 2 and expired projects in subdivision 11 cannot
exceed a total authorization of $1,500,000 in state medical assistance funding available
in any fiscal year.
