relating to education; allowing nationally normed exams to replace the Minnesota
Comprehensive Assessments; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 120B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Upon approval of the state's accountability plan under the federal Every Student Succeeds
Act, the commissioner must replace the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments in grades
3 through 8 with a nationally normed exam that is aligned with state academic standards.
