relating to education finance; authorizing a grant to the Lakes Country Service
Cooperative to support its federal instructional level 4 program; appropriating
money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin The sum indicated in this section is
appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Education in the fiscal year
designated.

new text begin Lakes Country Service Cooperative; federal instructional level 4
program. new text end

new text begin (a) For a grant to support a federal instructional level 4 program operated by the
Lakes Country Service Cooperative:

new text begin (b) The grant must be used to reduce the tuition adjustments to resident school districts
during the first two years of the program's operation. Remaining grant funds may be used
for start-up operating costs, reducing subsequent year tuition adjustments, and capital
expenses.

new text begin (c) Any balance in the first year does not cancel but is available in the second year. This
is a onetime appropriation.
