A bill for an act
relating to health; appropriating money for a health, safety, and community
engagement program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; HEALTH, SAFETY, AND COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2022 and $....... in fiscal year 2023 are appropriated from the general
fund to the commissioner of health for a grant to the Little Earth Residents Association for
a health, safety, and community engagement program administered by the association. The
program shall:

new text begin (1) improve resident and community health by providing residents with training in first
aid, responses to common medical emergencies, overdose prevention strategies, and overdose
response strategies including administration of opiate antagonists; and

new text begin (2) promote community engagement and community connections and provide community
education on health and safety topics by hosting community meetings between residents
and elected officials and between residents, health professionals, and safety officials.
