A bill for an act
 relating to motor vehicles; amending determination of a single axle for certain
motor vehicle weight limits; amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 169.822,
subdivisions 3, 5.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 169.822, subdivision 3, is amended to read:


Subd. 3.

Single axle.

"Single axle" includes all wheels whose centers may be included
within two parallel transverse vertical planes deleted text begin 40deleted text end new text begin 37new text end inches apartnew text begin , extending across the full
width of the vehiclenew text end .

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 169.822, subdivision 5, is amended to read:


Subd. 5.

Tandem axles.

"Tandem axles" means two consecutive axles whose centers
are spaced more than deleted text begin 40deleted text end new text begin 37new text end inches and not more than 96 inches apart.
