A bill for an act
relating to public safety; providing that certain places of worship are not required
to have automatic sprinklers; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 299F.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin A building used as a place of worship is not required to be equipped with an
automatic sprinkler system if the building is not connected to a public water supply system.

Sec. 2. new text begin CONFORMING CHANGE TO RULE.

new text begin The fire marshal shall revise Minnesota Rules, part 7510.3510, to conform with
section 1. The fire marshal may use the process described in Minnesota Statutes, section
14.388, subdivision 1, clause (3), to do this.
