  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to municipal tort liability; providing 
  1.3             immunity from tort liability for a limited partnership 
  1.4             in which a community action agency is a general 
  1.5             partner; amending Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, 
  1.6             section 466.01, subdivision 1. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 
  1.9   466.01, subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subdivision 1.  [MUNICIPALITY.] For the purposes of 
  1.11  sections 466.01 to 466.15, "municipality" means any city, 
  1.12  whether organized under home rule charter or otherwise, any 
  1.13  county, town, public authority, public corporation, nonprofit 
  1.14  firefighting corporation that has associated with it a relief 
  1.15  association as defined in section 424A.001, subdivision 4, 
  1.16  special district, school district, however organized, county 
  1.17  agricultural society organized pursuant to chapter 38, joint 
  1.18  powers board or organization created under section 471.59 or 
  1.19  other statute, public library, regional public library system, 
  1.20  multicounty multitype library system, the following local 
  1.21  collaboratives whose plans have been approved by the Children's 
  1.22  Cabinet:  family services collaboratives established under 
  1.23  section 124D.23, children's mental health collaboratives 
  1.24  established under sections 245.491 to 245.495, or a 
  1.25  collaborative established by the merger of a children's mental 
  1.26  health collaborative and a family services collaborative, other 
  2.1   political subdivision, or community action agency, or a limited 
  2.2   partnership in which a community action agency is the sole 
  2.3   general partner. 
  2.4      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.5      Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment 
  2.6   and applies to actions arising from incidents occurring on or 
  2.7   after that date.
