  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to commerce; regulating authentication and 
  1.3             reliability of electronic messages; exempting 
  1.4             government keys from public inspection and copying 
  1.5             under the Government Data Practices Act; amending 
  1.6             Minnesota Statutes 1997 Supplement, section 325K.13, 
  1.7             by adding a subdivision. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1997 Supplement, section 
  1.10  325K.13, is amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.11     Subd. 4.  [GOVERNMENT KEYS.] A private key in the 
  1.12  possession of a state, city, county, or other governmental 
  1.13  entity is exempt from public inspection and copying under 
  1.14  chapter 13.
