A bill for an act
relating to local government; authorizing the transfer of all powers, duties, and
obligations of the Board of Estimate and Taxation in the city of Minneapolis to
the Minneapolis City Council.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Notwithstanding any contrary law or provision of the Minneapolis city charter, all
powers, rights, duties, and obligations of the city of Minneapolis Board of Estimate and
Taxation are transferred to and may be exercised by the Minneapolis City Council, subject
only to Chapter 3, section 1, of the charter of the city of Minneapolis.

new text begin Section 1 is effective the day after the governing body of the city of Minneapolis and
its chief clerical officer timely complete their compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section
645.021, subdivisions 2 and 3.
