  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to highways; designating a portion of marked 
  1.3             trunk highway No. 22 as Victory Drive; designating a 
  1.4             portion of marked trunk highway No. 15 as Veterans 
  1.5             Memorial Highway; providing for reimbursement of 
  1.6             costs; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 
  1.7             161.14, by adding subdivisions. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 161.14, is 
  1.10  amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.11     Subd. 32.  [VICTORY DRIVE.] Marked trunk highway No. 22, 
  1.12  from its intersection with marked trunk highways No. 14 and 60 
  1.13  in the city of Mankato to its intersection with marked trunk 
  1.14  highway No. 30 in the city of Mapleton, is designated "Victory 
  1.15  Drive."  The commissioner of transportation shall adopt a 
  1.16  suitable design for marking this highway and shall erect 
  1.17  appropriate signs at each intersection of the highway with 
  1.18  another trunk highway or with a county highway or county 
  1.19  state-aid highway.  The people of the community, having resolved 
  1.20  to support and financially back the marking of this highway, 
  1.21  shall reimburse the department for costs incurred in marking and 
  1.22  memorializing this highway. 
  1.23     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 161.14, is 
  1.24  amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.25     Subd. 33.  [VETERANS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY.] Trunk highway 15, 
  1.26  from its intersection with trunk highway 60 to its intersection 
  2.1   with the Iowa border is designated "Veterans Memorial Highway." 
  2.2   The commissioner of transportation shall adopt a suitable design 
  2.3   for marking this highway and shall erect appropriate signs at 
  2.4   each intersection of the highway with another trunk highway or 
  2.5   with a county highway or county state-aid highway.  The people 
  2.6   of the community, having resolved to support and financially 
  2.7   back the marking of this highway, shall reimburse the department 
  2.8   for costs incurred in marking and memorializing this highway. 
  2.9      Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.10     Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
  2.11  enactment.
