  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to highways; requiring commissioner of 
  1.3             transportation to reconstruct segments of marked trunk 
  1.4             highways No. 7 and No. 212 as super-2 highways. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [HIGHWAY PROJECTS.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [DEFINITION.] For purposes of this 
  1.8   subdivision "super-2 highway" means a highway design that 
  1.9   incorporates one lane of travel in each direction; includes 
  1.10  right-hand and left-hand turning lanes at each intersection with 
  1.11  another trunk highway, a county highway, or a county state-aid 
  1.12  highway; and includes a passing lane at regular intervals. 
  1.13     Subd. 2.  [TRUNK HIGHWAY NO. 7.] The commissioner of 
  1.14  transportation shall reconstruct marked trunk highway No. 7 as a 
  1.15  super-2 highway from its intersection with marked trunk highway 
  1.16  No. 15 near Hutchinson to Montevideo and thence northwest to 
  1.17  Ortonville.  The commissioner shall let contracts for this 
  1.18  project not later than December 31, 2000. 
  1.19     Subd. 3.  [TRUNK HIGHWAY NO. 212.] The commissioner of 
  1.20  transportation shall reconstruct marked trunk highway No. 212 as 
  1.21  a super-2 highway from its intersection with marked trunk 
  1.22  highway No. 59 near Montevideo to the South Dakota border.  The 
  1.23  commissioner shall let contracts for this project not later than 
  1.24  December 31, 2000.
