  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to economic development; authorizing transfer 
  1.3             of land and buildings to the keepers of the sacred 
  1.4             tradition of pipemakers for use as a museum and a 
  1.5             resident academy; providing for a grant to restore the 
  1.6             buildings; appropriating money.  
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [AUTHORIZATION.] 
  1.9      The board of trustees of the Minnesota state colleges and 
  1.10  universities is authorized to transfer the historic Pipestone 
  1.11  Indian School superintendent's house and gymnasium at the 
  1.12  Minnesota West campus to the keepers of the sacred tradition of 
  1.13  pipemakers for use as a museum and resident academy.  This 
  1.14  transfer is not subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.695. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.16     $13,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.17  commissioner of trade and economic development for a grant to 
  1.18  the keepers of the sacred tradition of pipemakers for asbestos 
  1.19  removal and restoration planning at the historic Pipestone 
  1.20  Indian school.
