  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to higher education; appropriating money to 
  1.3             the board of trustees of the Minnesota state colleges 
  1.4             and universities to support continued Northwest 
  1.5             technical college programs on Indian reservations. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      $694,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the board 
  1.9   of trustees of the Minnesota state colleges and universities in 
  1.10  the 2002-2003 fiscal biennium to support continued Northwest 
  1.11  technical college programs on the Red Lake, Leech Lake, and 
  1.12  White Earth reservations.  This appropriation is in addition to 
  1.13  current base level funding for college programs on the 
  1.14  reservations.  The board shall report in the biennial budget 
  1.15  document on recommendations or proposed initiatives to increase 
  1.16  the efficiency of delivery of college programs to the 
  1.17  reservations.
