relating to human services; requiring a study on the density of residential
programs.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin STUDY OF DENSITY OF RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS.

new text begin The commissioner of human services, in consultation with the commissioner of
health, shall study the density of residential programs licensed by the commissioners of
human services and health in suburban communities to determine if the goal of integrating
residential programs into the community is being met, or if residential programs are
concentrated in certain neighborhoods. The commissioner shall study the density issue
and provide recommendations, if necessary, and report to the house and senate committees
having jurisdiction over human services licensing and housing issues by February 1, 2008.
