relating to arts and cultural heritage; appropriating money for Dakota and Ojibwe
language preservation.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; DAKOTA AND OJIBWE LANGUAGE
PRESERVATION.

new text begin $1,500,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $1,500,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from
the arts and cultural heritage fund to the Indian Affairs Council for grants to preserve Dakota
and Ojibwe language programs, with a preference for programs in public schools and
immersion education programs.
