  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transportation; providing for payment of 
  1.3             dues under the midwest interstate passenger rail 
  1.4             compact; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [MIDWEST INTERSTATE PASSENGER RAIL COMPACT; 
  1.7   APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      $50,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.9   commissioner of transportation to pay state dues under the 
  1.10  midwest interstate passenger rail compact, in accordance with 
  1.11  Minnesota Statutes, section 218.75.  $25,000 is for the fiscal 
  1.12  year ending June 30, 2002, and $25,000 is for the fiscal year 
  1.13  ending June 30, 2003. 
  1.14     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.15  following final enactment.
