  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; providing for employee 
  1.3             recognition programs; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.4             2002, section 123B.02, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 123B.02, is 
  1.7   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 14a.  [EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION.] A school board may 
  1.9   establish and operate an employee recognition program for 
  1.10  district employees, including teachers, and may expend funds as 
  1.11  necessary to achieve the objectives of the program.
