A bill for an act
 relating to energy; appropriating money to the Department of Commerce to
remediate vermiculate insulation from households.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; ENERGY RESOURCES.

new text begin $260,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $260,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of commerce to remediate vermiculate insulation from
households that are eligible for weatherization assistance under Minnesota's weatherization
assistance program state plan under Minnesota Statutes, section 216C.264. Remediation
must be done in conjunction with federal weatherization assistance program services.
