relating to public safety; regulating participation in federal law enforcement task
forces; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 626.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin (a) No state or local law enforcement agency may participate in a federal or other
multijurisdictional law enforcement task force if the task force prohibits its members from
being equipped with and using a body-worn camera.

new text begin (b) A peace officer, as defined in section 626.84, subdivision 1, shall be equipped with
and use a body-worn camera when participating in a federal or other multijurisdictional law
enforcement task force.
