  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to gambling; permitting licensed veterans 
  1.3             organizations to use gross profits from lawful 
  1.4             gambling to attend the World War II Memorial 
  1.5             Dedication Ceremony in Washington, D.C. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [WORLD WAR II MEMORIAL DEDICATION CEREMONY.] 
  1.8      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 349.15, or any 
  1.9   other law to the contrary, a veterans organization may expend in 
  1.10  the 2004 calendar year up to $5,000 of gross profits from lawful 
  1.11  gambling in net costs to the organization for meals, lodging, 
  1.12  and other travel expenses, limited to members and spouses, to 
  1.13  attend the National World War II Memorial Dedication Ceremony in 
  1.14  Washington, D.C., on May 29, 2004.
