A bill for an act
relating to education; appropriating money to provide a grant to Independent
School Districts Nos. 402, Hendricks and 403, Ivanhoe for energy improvement
to Lincoln High School.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATIONS.

new text begin $712,000 of the funds available from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
of 2009 is appropriated in fiscal year 2010 to the commissioner of education for a grant to
Independent School Districts Nos. 402, Hendricks and 403, Ivanhoe for improvements to
Lincoln High School. The appropriation includes:

new text begin (1) $175,000 for replacing existing windows with energy efficient systems;
new text end

new text begin (2) $320,000 for adding a ground source well system;
new text end

new text begin (3) $40,000 for improving the energy efficiency of mechanical system motors and
fans;
new text end

new text begin (4) $130,000 for increasing the insulation thickness on the roof; and
new text end

new text begin (5) $47,000 for replacing ceiling and lighting on second floor classrooms to reduce
energy and improve acoustics.
