A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for street lighting improvements
in the city of Stillwater.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; STILLWATER STREET LIGHTING.

new text begin $3,800,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of transportation for a grant to the city of Stillwater to predesign, design, construct, and
equip street lighting improvements to the city of Stillwater's historic downtown. This
appropriation includes money for replacement of all street lighting infrastructure in the
downtown area of the city of Stillwater, including but not limited to conduits, wiring, poles,
light-emitting diode (LED) lights, fixtures, and other related equipment. This appropriation
is onetime and is available until completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes,
section 16A.642.
