  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing public and 
  1.3             private sales of certain lands in Aitkin County. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND; AITKIN 
  1.6   COUNTY.] 
  1.7      (a) Notwithstanding the public sale provisions of Minnesota 
  1.8   Statutes, chapter 282, or other law to the contrary, Aitkin 
  1.9   County may sell by private sale the tax-forfeited land described 
  1.10  in paragraph (c). 
  1.11     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.12  attorney general for no less than the appraised value of the 
  1.13  land. 
  1.14     (c) The land to be sold is located in Aitkin County and is 
  1.15  described as:  208 feet by 208 feet in Government Lot 3, as in 
  1.16  Document #176374, Section 33, Township 45 North, Range 27 West 
  1.17  (PIN 11-0-074000). 
  1.18     (d) The sale corrects an inadvertent trespass and the 
  1.19  county has determined that the county's land management 
  1.20  interests would best be served if the lands were returned to 
  1.21  private ownership. 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [PRIVATE SALE OF CONSOLIDATED CONSERVATION LAND; 
  1.23  AITKIN COUNTY.] 
  1.24     (a) Notwithstanding the classification and public sale 
  2.1   provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapters 84A and 282, the 
  2.2   commissioner of natural resources may sell to Shamrock Township 
  2.3   the consolidated conservation land described in paragraph (c) 
  2.4   under the remaining provisions of chapters 84A and 282. 
  2.5      (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  2.6   attorney general.  The consideration for the conveyance must be 
  2.7   for no less than the appraised value of the land and timber and 
  2.8   any survey costs.  Proceeds shall be disposed of according to 
  2.9   Minnesota Statutes, chapter 84A. 
  2.10     (c) The land to be sold is located in Aitkin County and is 
  2.11  described as:  that part of the Southeast Quarter of the 
  2.12  Southeast Quarter lying north of the township road in Section 9, 
  2.13  Township 49 North, Range 23 West. 
  2.14     Sec. 3.  [PUBLIC SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND BORDERING 
  2.15  PUBLIC WATER; AITKIN COUNTY.] 
  2.16     (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  2.17  282.018, subdivision 1, Aitkin County may sell the tax-forfeited 
  2.18  land bordering public water that is described in paragraph (c), 
  2.19  under the remaining provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 
  2.20  282. 
  2.21     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  2.22  attorney general.  
  2.23     (c) The land to be sold is located in Aitkin County and is 
  2.24  described as:  the East 400 feet of the West 1,150 feet of 
  2.25  Government Lot 7, Section 3, Township 51 North, Range 23 West 
  2.26  (PIN 06-0-005200). 
  2.27     (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  2.28  management interests would best be served if the lands were 
  2.29  returned to private ownership.
