  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money for a grant 
  1.3             to the Minnesota Children's Museum's Ready?Set.Read! 
  1.4             program. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [READY?SET.READ! PROGRAM.] 
  1.7      $250,000 in fiscal year 2000 and $250,000 in fiscal year 
  1.8   2001 are appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner 
  1.9   of children, families, and learning for a grant to the Minnesota 
  1.10  Children's Museum to enhance exhibit-based curriculum 
  1.11  programming for children in kindergarten through grade 4 and to 
  1.12  expand neighborhood reading readiness programs.  Any balance in 
  1.13  the first year does not cancel but is available in the second 
  1.14  year.
